Most people see Dubai through a filtered lens of luxury cars and soaring skyscrapers. But for us — Leonie and Jasmine — the story didn't start in a penthouse. It started on the vibrant, fast-paced streets of Brooklyn.
Before we were curating private desert safaris and luxury Zanzibar escapes, we were two sisters navigating the New York hustle. We spent years working at the iconic Abercrombie & Fitch on 5th Avenue — a time that taught us everything we know about high-level hospitality, the guest-first mindset, and how to spot a trend before it hits the mainstream.
That foundation never left us. It became the blueprint for everything Destinationz is today.

Over a decade ago, we made a choice that changed our lives forever: we traded our Brooklyn roots for a one-way ticket to Dubai. We spent years exploring every corner of this Emirate — from the hidden gems of Old Dubai's souks to the most exclusive beach clubs on the Palm.
As two Black women navigating the City of Gold, we realized something crucial. While the world was watching Dubai from afar, many travelers — especially from our American community — felt the world outside the USA was out of reach, complicated, or simply "too different."
We knew that feeling. And we knew exactly how to fix it.
